| Animal Emergency Center
The Animal Emergency Center is committed to providing the best in veterinary medicine. We are proud of our experienced and dedicated staff of nurses, technicians and veterinarians. Our facility is equipped with all the diagnostic, monitoring, therapeutic
and surgical equipment necessary for any emergency situation. We
emphasize the most recent advances in emergency and critical care medicine.
Referral The Animal Emergency Center will work closely with your family veterinarian to provide after hours emergency care and continuous 24 hour monitoring of critically ill patients. If you have questions or concerns, or if your pet's situation seems critical, and your veterinarian is unavailable, please call our clinic. You will be helped by our staff of doctors, technicians, and nurses. Do not expect to find your own veterinarian at our facility; however, be assured he or she will be notified of your visit the next business day. Please call before coming to the clinic.
Priorities/Triage On occasion, multiple emergencies may be presented to the clinic at the same time. The admitting staff will assess the severity of the patient's condition. Those patients with the most critical conditions will be examined first. All patients will be examined as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience if you and your pet must wait. Discharge All pets must be picked up before 8:00 am Monday through Saturday. Patients hospitalized on a holiday must be picked up before 8:00 am on the morning following the holiday. Please bring a leash for your dog or a carrier for your cat. Complete
instructions concerning your pet's care will be given at the time of release.
Transfer of Patients We stress the importance of proper follow-up care and continued treatment to ensure the successful resolution of your pet's condition. Your pet may not be fully recovered at the time of discharge and may need further treatment by your family veterinarian. We will call your veterinarian's office to inform them of your pet's
medical status. We will provide a copy of the medical record to you
and your veterinarian.
Fees The fees charged are usual and customary for the special services provided and are comparable to those of other veterinary emergency clinics. Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. This is necessary to meet the costs of maintaining a well-equipped and fully staffed critical care facility. An estimate for costs of treatment will be provided for your approval prior to your pet's admission to the hospital. Changes in the patient's condition may require revision of the estimate. If there is a change in the patients status, every attempt will be made to contact you to authorize the additional treatments. However, if a critical situation arises and you cannot be reached, we will provide the necessary care. Payment can be made in cash, by personal check, or by Visa or MasterCard.
